Osteopath

Registered with The General Osteopathic Council

I have been an Associate Osteopath at Carshalton Osteopathic Surgery since March 2022.

I first encountered Osteopathy as an injury prone teenager. I was taking part, and competing, in various sports including Swimming, Karting, Jet skiing, Water Skiing and Wakeboarding – as a result of this I found myself spending quite a lot of time seeing various health professionals.

After my first appointment with an Osteopath I was inspired by the philosophy of Osteopathy (and becoming injury free) and decided to pursue a career as an Osteopath – my life took a few turns along the way and I found myself in a completely different career – but after having my children, and all the aches and pains that accompanied pregnancy I revisited my goal of becoming an Osteopath and graduated from the prestigious University College of Osteopathy (formally known as The British School of Osteopathy) with a Masters Degree in Osteopathy in 2018 where I was given an award by HRH Princess Anne for the highest level of academic achievement in my year.

I am passionate about Osteopathy and helping my patients find the healthiest version of themselves. I work predominantly with structural osteopathic techniques and work alongside patients to help them gain an understanding of their pain. By treating each patient as an individual, I create bespoke treatment plans based on their personal needs and goals, providing them with the tools to manage their pain effectively.  I consider myself as a family Osteopath and treat all age groups – from my youngest patient at one day old to my eldest at 104!

During my undergraduate training I gained a wealth of experience, working with a wide range of people including athletes, expectant mothers and the elderly and developed a keen interest in pre and post natal osteopathic care.  I have further developed my areas of interest by undertaking postgraduate training with newborns, paediatric musculoskeletal complaints and women’s health. I am a member of The Academy of Physical Medicine and keep up to date with new techniques and medical research as part of my continuous professional development.

Osteopathy has provided me with many exciting experiences throughout my career. I have been able to offer my services in various outreach clinics including a homeless shelter, a hospital based HIV clinic, within an NHS chronic pain clinic and with various clinics supporting geriatric patients.  My Career took me to Singapore where I was lucky enough to be the official Osteopath for a Mum and Baby network offering advice and treatment to families in South East Asia.  I have given various talks about health and Osteopathy to groups including New Mums, sports teams, international businesses and senior groups and I worked with a team of researchers from National Geographic who were creating a documentary on health and wellness.

When I’m not in clinic I work as a listening volunteer for a charity that provides emotional support to anyone in emotional distress, who may be struggling to cope or at risk of suicide.

If all of the above wasn’t enough to keep me busy I’m a very proud Mum to two teenage girls, I enjoy eating, and talking about South East Asian cuisine. My guilty pleasure in life is an obsession with Shark Films (the finest film genre) and I use biscuits to bribe myself to go to the gym.
