Osteopathy

Osteopaths are healthcare professionals regulated by the GOsC (General Osteopathic Council) who specialise in a holistic and patient-centered approach to a wide range of complaints. They are trained to assess and treat a number of conditions that may affect bones, muscles, joints, ligaments, and connective tissues; with a focus on restoring balance and promoting the body’s natural ability to heal.

Osteopaths are trained to address various conditions including back and neck pain, arthritis, sports injuries, posture-related problems, headaches and migraine prevention. We see a broad range of individuals including pregnant women, children and babies.

A range of techniques are used in osteopathic practice including including soft tissue massage, joint mobilisation, and gentle manipulations. Other gentle techniques such as cranial may also be used.

As Osteopaths we aim to optimise the overall well-being of our patients, emphasising function and maintenance of musculoskeletal health of which we believe is essential to whole body health. Osteopathic practice offers a comprehensive approach to care that includes manual therapy and often health and self-management information as well as exercise therapy which are all adapted depending on the individual needs of each patient.
