Formthotics Orthotics

Individually fitted orthotics to support your feet, posture and movement

At Carshalton Osteopathic Surgery, we are pleased to offer Formthotics Medical Orthotics as part of our approach to assessing and managing musculoskeletal problems.

Your feet provide the foundation for how you stand and move. Changes in foot function can influence the way forces are transferred through the ankles, knees, hips and pelvis.

Formthotics are individually fitted, heat-mouldable orthotics that can be adapted to your feet and incorporated into your wider treatment plan.

What are Formthotics?

Formthotics are medical-grade, customisable orthotics designed to provide support and cushioning while helping to optimise foot function.

Unlike standard off-the-shelf insoles, Formthotics can be heat-moulded and individually shaped to your feet.

Importantly, we don’t simply prescribe an insole. We first assess you as an individual and consider how your feet, lower limbs and whole body are functioning.

Your Formthotics assessment

Your initial appointment includes a full osteopathic and biomechanical assessment.

We will look at:

If Formthotics are appropriate for you, we will select the most suitable option and individually fit and mould them during your appointment.

We can then integrate your orthotics into your wider osteopathic treatment and management plan.

Formthotics Package — £160

Your initial Formthotics appointment is £160, which includes:

There is no separate fitting charge.

Follow-up — £60

We recommend a follow-up after you have had time to adapt to your new orthotics.

This isn’t simply an orthotic fitting check, your follow-up includes a full reassessment, allowing us to assess how you are responding to the orthotics and whether any further adjustments or treatment are appropriate.

Your appointment may include:

Who might benefit from Formthotics?

Formthotics may be considered as part of the management of a range of musculoskeletal and lower-limb problems, including:

They aren’t suitable for everyone, which is why we assess you first and discuss whether orthotics are appropriate for your individual needs.

More than just an insole

Our approach is based on treating the person, not just the foot.

At Carshalton Osteopathic Surgery, we take the time to understand your individual history, circumstances and how your body moves. Formthotics can be one part of a wider approach that may include hands-on osteopathic treatment, exercise, rehabilitation and advice.

Our aim is to help you move comfortably and confidently and to provide an orthotic solution that fits into your lifestyle.

Had my first appointment with Laura today. Amazing difference from just the first session! She diagnosed the issue straight away and then got to work. My 'heavy' leg already feels much better. Will definitely be back. Thank you! 😊

I have suffered with various back problems for over 30 years. I had a nasty flare up around 12 months ago. Painful to stand up straight and even walk. It was effecting my job as a chef. A few visits with Campbell Milton and I was sorted. He advised me on various stretches to do, which I have kept up with. I have had no problems since. Thank you 🙏

Thank you Laura for sorting out my pelvic/lower back issue that was causing me persistent discomfort. The fact it was done in the first session was amazing too. My previous experience of osteopathy (many years ago) has been minimal manipulation and just being asked to do certain stretches - walking away feeling a bit cheated of my money. This was very hands on - highly recommended and worth every penny

I initially came to see Jonathan with a serious shoulder injury last year and have been back whenever I have had any niggles. Jon has a very relaxed manner and is brilliant at helping me understand any pain i have experienced and sets a clear plan for rehabilitation. I would definitely reccomend him and the surgery.
